Local Produce

Where can I find local produce?  (Mushrooms - Goat's Milk)

The first web site listed below is the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Customer Services.  Every producer in Virginia that has registered with the department is listed.  There are, however, numerous local farms that are not registered.  You might want to check out the local farmers' market.  Most counties have a farmers' market that operates in the summer.  The biggest one locally is the Williamsburg Farmers' Market.  York County also has a farmers' market.  New Kent County is expected to start one next year.  A farmers' market is expected in Toano this summer sponsored by the JCC Fire Department.  There are several u-pick-them farms in the area.

There is a free web site where local farmers and u-pick-ums can list their products.  A lot of local farms are listed on this site.  See the second reference below.
