Low Maintenance Water Wise Landscape

How can I create a low maintenance, water-wise  landscape?

Reduce turf area; properly install and schedule your irrigation system; use drip irrigation on landscaped beds; mulch beds; plant hardy, native shrubs; plant native trees; minimize planting of water-hungry annuals; use water wise plants;  minimize exposed soil areas; and recycle all available water, e.g. air conditioner water.
