Virginia Master Gardener Association (VMGA)
Why you should consider joining the VMGA.
Joining the VMGA gives you a stronger voice, deeper knowledge, and wider connections as a Master Gardener— linking you with volunteers across Virginia, expanding your access to high-quality education and events at a minimal cost, and helping you grow as a confident, well-supported horticultural educator while strengthening the entire Master Gardener program statewide.
The Virginia Master Gardener Association is a statewide nonprofit organization that supports and strengthens the Master Gardener program across the Commonwealth of Virginia. Its primary mission is to foster communication, education, and fellowship among Virginia Cooperative Extension Master Gardener volunteers and their local chapter, helping them connect, share knowledge, and grow together as a community of horticultural educators.
VMGA works in partnership with Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) and Virginia Tech to represent the interests and ideas of Master Gardeners throughout the state, offering continuing education opportunities, networking forums, and coordinated events. Meetings are held in even-numbered months, with December and February meetings held only via Zoom due to frequent bad weather. The June meeting is always held at night in conjunction with Master Gardener College, while all other meetings take place on the second Saturday at 10:00 am. The next educational event is scheduled for March at Virginia State University; see the ad below. Our association plans to host a VMGA meeting here in Williamsburg in early 2027 to highlight the great work and programs our volunteers do.
To join or get additional information about their programs, visit their website @ www.vmga.net. The annual membership fee is only $15. As a VMGA member, you will receive reduced rates/fees for sponsored events and educational programs. The benefits of membership are worth it.
See me, Marilyn, at the next business meeting, and we can talk about the VMGA.
