Get Ready for the Farmers Market Season
Master Gardeners, we had an amazing year with our Farmers Market Outreach Program!
We showed up strong at three local markets—Williamsburg, Toano, and New Kent County—thanks to the 55 master gardener volunteers who made over 1,000 direct contacts with community members. We also debuted our new JCCWMG tent and Ask a Gardener tablecloth and launched a garden-topic program at the Williamsburg Farmers Market. It was a big success!
Now it’s time to do it again in 2026!
This year’s our Farmers Market Outreach program will run from mid–March through mid-October, and I’m working with market managers to finalize dates, times, and locations.
To keep the momentum going, we need your help staffing our market tents. Start thinking about which markets you’d like to volunteer at. If you volunteered last year, you know how fun and rewarding it is. If you missed out—don’t this time! It’s social, educational, and a great way to sharpen your gardening knowledge while connecting with the community.
