Master Gardeners working with children making crafts

We have a whole morning of hands-on fun planned for kids of all ages. Here is a sneak peek at what you get to do:

  • Get Crafty: Paint your own pollinator ornaments, create beautiful butterfly art, and paint story-rocks to take home.
  • Earn Your Explorer Badge: Go on a wild Pollinator Scavenger Hunt through our giant, one-acre garden. Can you spot a fuzzy bumblebee, a zooming hummingbird, or a hidden caterpillar?
  • Become a Green Thumb: Roll up your sleeves to make your own “seed balls” and plant native flowers that you can take home to grow in your own yard.
  • Earn Your Wings: Strike a pose in front of our giant butterfly wings for a superhero photo!

How to Prep for Your Adventure —

Bring your Dad!

  1. It’s Father’s Day morning, and there is no better way to celebrate than exploring the great outdoors together.
  2. Dress Like an Explorer: Wear your favorite sneakers for running through the garden, and don’t forget your sunscreen and water bottle.
  3. Bring Your Questions: Friendly Extension Master Gardeners will be there to show you how bugs “talk” to flowers and answer your weirdest, wildest nature questions.

Our native plant garden used to be just regular grass, but with a little magic (and a lot of hard work), it’s now a bustling city for local wildlife. Come see it in action, get your hands dirty, and learn how you can protect our buzzing backyard buddies.

We can’t wait to see you in the garden, explorers!
