Tree Call – A Request for a Tree Steward Consultation

The Tree Call Home Visitation Program is now Open.  To request a home visit, complete and submit the form below.

Redbud trees, Cercis species, naturally fertilize the soil by fixing nitrogen in nodules on their roots.

Tree Calls is a free garden consultation offered from April 1 to October 31  by the James City County Williamsburg Master Gardener Association to James City, New Kent County, and Williamsburg area homeowners interested in getting educated advice about their trees.

At the homeowner's request, a small team of two or three tree stewards visits the property to answer the homeowner's questions and make recommendations about the care and issues with their trees.

The tree stewards will not assess risk that may be caused by the location or disposition of the tree.  But will make recommendations about how to contact a qualified arborist for this service.

Note that our Master Gardener Volunteers are certified by the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE). These tree stewards have undergone additional training and experience to qualify for their certification as tree stewards.
