Popular Plant Sale Returns on May 10, 2025

Williamsburg, VA—James City County Williamsburg Master Gardener Association (JCCWMGA) invites you to our plant sale on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Williamsburg Botanical Garden (WBG) located within Freedom Park at 5537 Centerville Road.  This sale runs only on Saturday, May 10, rain or shine.  Admission to the WBG and parking in Freedom Park is free.

The sale offers a broad selection of plants, including annuals, perennials, vegetables, herbs, trees, and shrubs. Much of the plant stock has been raised by the Master Gardeners themselves. In addition to plants, visitors can shop the Green Thumb sale for gently used garden tools, equipment, and specialty items, including artwork and garden sculptures.

Shoppers will enjoy connecting with fellow gardening enthusiasts and getting expert advice from the JCCW Master Gardeners, who will be on-site during the sale to answer questions.

The President of the Board of Directors for the JCCWMGA, David Kleppinger, said, “Our sale is a longtime favorite among local plant lovers. We’re pleased to have it again in the Williamsburg Botanical Garden in Freedom Park. We appreciate the benefits of partnering with them and the James City County Parks & Recreation, with whom we also have a long-standing relationship. Our plant sale shoppers enjoy seeing this amazing garden and touring the Garden’s two-acre footprint inside Freedom Park.”

Freedom Park is located at 5537 Centerville Road, at the intersection of Longhill Road and Centerville Road. Turn into Freedom Park on Hotwater Trail and follow the signs to the WBG and the Plant Sale on the left. To park, continue past the WBG to the parking lot beside the Interpretive Center, where there are public restrooms. Bring your wagon to make shopping easier. Only a limited number of wagons will be available to borrow at no charge.

Proceeds from the plant sale support over 25 special projects, including school and community gardens and operating expenses for the JCCWMGA, a registered nonprofit 501(c)(3).
